The forgotten art of Tinsmithing will be rediscovered at a special exhibition to be held at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.
Nationally profiled artist and jeweller Barbara Heath investigates the history of tinsmithing in Southeast Queensland. Exquisite new objects by the artist are seen in juxtaposition to historical tinwares.
Tinsmith: An Ordinary Romance is an artisan travelling exhibition. Artisan produces Australia's largest touring exhibition program of craft and design. This exhibition is supported by the Gordon Darling Foundation. Artisan receives financial assistance from its major sponsors, Arts Queensland (State Government) and the Australian Council, the Commonwealth Government's arts funding and advisory body.
The exhibition will be open from December to February.
