If you enjoy the simpler option and fresh air of caravans or camping, the Gladstone region offers some excellent spots you can call home for a week or two.

The main camping ground at Seventeen Seventy sits on a finger of land between beach and bay with easy access to both. The campground caters for tents and caravans and has 97 sites, 27 of which are powered beachfront sites with fireplaces. Baffle Creek Caravan and Camping Park boasts a beautiful waterside location with good fishing, large powered sites with ensuites, a generously sized camping ground and all the amenities you'll need.

A little further inland is the Greenacres Motel and Caravan Park at Benaraby, ideally situated for freshwater fisherman near Lake Awoonga and the Boyne River. Kroombit Lochenbar Farmstay in the Banana Shire offers a unique bush accommodation experience on a real cattle station, with accommodation options including caravans and camping.
