They brief you completely before you set out and are on hand to help you with all aspects of skippering during your time with them. Each vessel is fully supplied with area charts and the staff are on call for 24 hour radio contact with ship-to-shore Marine communication radios.
Generally, Fraser Island Escape Bareboats Charter boats are equipped with everything you need except food, drinks and clothes. Here is a general list but please feel free to check with the operator if there is anything you are not sure of.
Linen (sheets, blankets, pillows, pillow cases, towels and tea towels), kitchen gear (crockery, cutlery, cooking gear, stove, barbecue and matches), cleaning gear (sponges, scourer, detergent, disinfectant, garbage bags and toilet rolls), shower/toilet, AM/FM radio and/or cassette and/or compact disc player, auxiliary engine, wet weather jackets, bimini/boom tent, VHF radio with seaphone, dinghy and five horse power outboard, boat hook, fenders, boarding ladder and mooring lines, charts (cruising guide and tide tables), cockpit light, binoculars and torch, safety gear and first aid kit.
All tariffs listed are based on lodgement of a AUD1,000.00 refundable security deposit. Discounts are available on daily hire if a larger security deposit is provided. For further information please contact the operator. The other cost to allow for in charter costs is fuel and gas. Boats are full of fuel for the engines and the dinghy as well as gas for hot water, stove and barbecue. Use of these 'consumables' are governed by the number of hours that you run the main engines of your boat for.
You are charged an energy bond of AUD500.00. Upon your return, the engine hours used will be checked and this cost deducted before refunding you the balance of your fuel bond. As a guide, allow about two engine hours per day (charged at AUD25.00 per hour for Intrepid and Moondancer and AUD18.00 on Capri Cat).
