Maryborough's Sunday in the Park is a relaxed morning of fun, food, brass bands, steam train rides, river cruises, Stroll in Queens Park tours with Mary, Town Crier, firing of the time cannon and traditional children's games and activities.
Brass bands play inside the graceful Queens Park band rotunda and all morning, the Mary Ann, a full sized replica of Queensland's first steam locomotive built in Maryborough in 1873, chugs along the riverside taking passengers through Queens Park and the Mary River Parklands.... more
Children and adults can also climb onboard one of the miniature steam engines, which run on a circuit around Queens Park. The sight of little legs dangling from tiny carriages as the trains weave around the track is guaranteed to delight. It's a tradition begun by the city's Model Engineers and Live Steamers Association over 30 years ago - one that uniquely captures Maryborough's carefree, family-friendly lifestyle.... less
