The Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic is a 'must do' event on every keen fisherman's calendar. It has been held for the past 17 years and each year gets bigger and better.
In 2008 many of the prizes for heaviest of species were AUD500.00 in cash - but you don't event need to catch a fish to have a chance of winning a great prize! There are random draws and raffles throughout the weekend, and the highlight is the 'promotional draw' where 20 lucky entrants will win major prizes starting at around AUD400.00 in value and increasing to over AUD2000.00. The climax of the weekend is the major draw for a lucky girl, boy and senior. In 2008 the juniors won kayaks and the lucky senior a boat, motor, trailer and fishing package valued at AUD8000.00. So come along and enjoy, and maybe wet a line at the picture perfect riverside setting.

Please note that all entrants for the fishing and lucky draws must sign on and pay 4.00 p.m. Saturday. Early bird entry will be available prior to the event.
Burrum Heads is approximately 35 kilometres north of Hervey Bay and 20 kilometres east of Torbanlea. On entering the town proceed past the small shopping centre and turn left into Ross Street. Travel down Ross Street until it intersects with Burrum Street and turn left. The Lions Park is directly ahead.
