Next Backpackers opened on 1 July 2006, and set new standards for backpackers hostels in the region. Everything about Next is still new and exudes quality. Get this, all rooms are air conditioned - yes even the dormitories and the internet cafe are fully airconditioned to give you that extra comfort in the tropical climate. Another awesome feature is that all their rooms (except the common dorm) have ensuite bathrooms. The modern stainless steel kitchen is large, well equipped and modern giving you a clean, hygienic area if you want to self-cater. Disabled: There is access for guests with a disability. There is wheelchair access to the ground floor, disabled shower and toilet. The dormitory sleeps two as a private room or five as a group / family.
Miscellaneous:
They are situated in the heart of Torquay. This is the heart of Hervey Bay and everything you need is right on the doorstep. There is even a supermarket next door. There are many cafes around so you can eat at a different cafe every night. For those who want to party there is a nightclub close by and also the Torquay Hotel which has live entertainment. The beach is at the end of the street approximately 50 metres away. There is a parkland and barbecue area for all to use.

Drive along the Esplanade into the main area of Torquay. You will see the large pub on a corner (the Torquay Hotel), turn into Bideford Street and they are 50 metres on the right.
