The Tropic of Capricorn is a line that represents the southernmost position of the sun on its annual journey. Rockhampton lies just north of the Tropic of Capricorn, which has also become the name of the region.
The Capricorn Tourism Visitor Information Centre is situated on Gladstone Road, Rockhampton - where the Tropic of Capricorn Spire is located. The Information Centre is also a registered travel agent and can help plan your holiday. Drinks and ice-creams can also be purchased as well as a range of Rockhampton souvenirs.
