The XXXX Rocky New Year Festival has been going for 21 years and has evolved and changed to keep up with the latest trends. The four days of partying peaks at the Black Tie and Boots Ball on New Year night attended by 3000 last year.
There will be three zones and the music varies from modern rock to country and a chill-out area for a few of the old timers or romantics. The bands are all carefully chosen to ensure the event absolutely rocks. Apart from the Ball, there is also the choice of spending a day at Great Keppel Island, attending the many Pub and Street Parties, a Picnic Race day, a Ute show, and an all inclusive Group Outfit Recovery day.

Miscellaneous:
The dress this year will be 'dress to impress formal'. They expect most to be in the traditional black and white at the Ball but it gives the opportunity for a bit of fresh change that maintains the standard. Some form of bow tie for the males will be compulsory. Rocky New Year Festival is definitely on and by all indications it will be bigger than ever.
People are travelling from all over. The venue for the Ball and Recovery is now at the Rocky Showgrounds which will be able to accommodate the large numbers in the pavilions where the weather will no longer be an issue. One new pavilion is three quarter acre in size and air-conditioned.
