Festival of the Wind is a free family day out and is based on the art of kite flying. On the day there will be plenty of beach games, competitions, market stalls, rides and entertainment. The Festival is held every year with a theme of enjoying everything to do with the wind. Simple kite flying to wind powered sailing craft and even hang gliding and parachuting are all featured on the day. Visitors can make their own kites from kits on sale and then try their hand at flying their creation on the beach. Children can take advantage of the available colouring pens to decorate the kites before they head off for a test flight. A massive fireworks display ends the great family day.
