In 1888, the first barrel of Bundaberg Rum literally rolled out of the production line. 110 years later, Bundaberg Rum, through its trials and tribulations, has gained recognition as one of Australia's famous Aussie spirits. In 1986 the Bundaberg Distilling Company appointed its first tour guide and demand soon saw the need to expand the tourist operation.

Children are certainly welcome but there are no on-site children's activities outside of the tour. Samples in the Bundy Tasting Bar are available only to adults aged 18 years and over (LPA+).

The Visitor Centre and most of the tour route is accessible by wheelchair or walking frame. The use of motorised wheelchairs is more restricted due to the potential for ignition in highly flammable areas.
General Comments
The BDC Distillery Experience combines The BDC Story with a guided expedition deep into the heart of their working distillery. The tour starts in the molasses wells, and follows the rum through the fermentation and distillation process. Visitors can then see their huge historic oak vats where the rum is aged, and then it's onto the bottling hall where the final product is ready to be sold and enjoyed.
After the tour, relax in the Bundy Bar and sample some of the famous Bundaberg Rum delivered direct from the distillery, or head to the Bundaberg Rum retail store to purchase the perfect gift or memento. Many items are exclusive to the distillery such as the famous Bundaberg Rum Royal Liqueur, and here you can even create your own personalised bottle of Bundaberg Rum - a great souvenir of your trip to the Bundaberg Distilling Company Bondstore.
All visitors to the Bundaberg Distilling Company Bondstore under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
