Cellblock is a heritage listed ex police station, transformed into the most modern backpacker resort in the region.

The hostel spans an acre in the centre of Bundaberg. The three separate buildings house a total of 155 beds, 27 rooms and seven restored jail cells (including a genuine padded cell).

Complementing the rooms is secure personal storage, king single beds and hotel-style security card entry - as safe as a police station!

Bundaberg is known as a great stop-over location for backpackers seeking work. Cellblock leads the way with an established work program, which provides up to 100 jobs every day on local farms. Cellblock even provides free transport to and from work, so earning money while staying at Cellblock couldn't be easier.

While the sometimes haunting past of this 125 year old police station still echoes through the corridors and jail cells, the facilities of Cellblock have earned the reputation of being a 'five star backpacker resort'.
