The 2012 Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival, from 27 to 29 July, comprises six concerts at intimate venues in the magnificent surroundings of North Stradbroke Island.
The festival again tempts lovers of chamber music with gems from the repertoire, with an outstanding line-up of performers, including special guests Sophie Rowell (former leader, ASQ), Caroline Henbest (formerly ACO) and visiting Dutch cellist Eric de Wit.
The festival will open with the world premiere of a string quintet by Robert Davidson.
Trichotomy (formerly Misinterprotato) return to the stunning headland venue of the Lifesaving Club with an exciting new project for jazz trio and string quartet. And later that night an an atmospheric concert will feature George Crumb's 'Voice of the Whale'.
At the Sunday morning concert on the grassy waterfront at the Little Ship Club, there will be musical frolics with the festival's brass quintet.
