Officially recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the world's first and largest koala sanctuary, with 80 years of experience and over 130 koalas.
Unwind with an organic coffee in the ""Koala Forest"" surrounded by 40 koalas! Watch the antics of cute female koalas like ""Crumpet"" and ""Bertha"" and dine in the spacious covered courtyard, or just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Photos opportunities are available all day, so make sure you get up close and personal with one of their cuddle trained koalas.
Lone Pine offers various activities and presentations on Australian wildlife through the day. Enjoy the Aussie outback farm experience with the sheep dog show and watch the dogs work their amazing sheep mustering skills three times daily. Performed by experienced award-winning sheep dog handlers and their loyal dogs, this is a must see show!
Watch the amazing eagles soar high in the sky at the bird of prey free flight show. Their experienced wildlife officers run the show twice daily and also give you the chance to get a photo taken holding one of the fantastic raptors at the end of the show.

Children: Children are catered for.
Disabled: Disabled access throughout all of the Sanctuary with disabled toilets inside. Reserved parking for the disabled is available at the entrance. Wheelchairs are available. Items are all displayed at a suitable viewing height. There might be minor difficulty with access, there is one stone pathway five to ten metres and a gradient five metres in length.
Entity Facilities
Licensed Restaurant with a dining capacity of 300 (indoor and outdoor). The Restaurant/Cafe area includes indoor, airconditioned seating for barbecue lunch (booked) groups, as well as outdoor seating. A cafe van with outdoor seating, provides hot food, drinks, coffee and sandwiches for individuals.

Of course, the most popular animal encounter is still the irresistible koala hug. Cuddle a koala at anytime and have your souvenir photo taken. Handfeed kangaroos, wallabies and lorikeets, or watch the Bird of Prey flight show. Have your photo taken holding a snake or baby crocodile! You'll encounter a large variety of wildlife including wombats, birds, dingoes, echidnas and more, in beautiful natural settings. It's the Australian wildlife experience not to be missed!
Also don't miss out on the opportunity to feed over 130 kangaroos and wallabies, the wild lorikeets and catfish or hold a snake or crocodile!
Located only 11 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane, the sanctuary is easily accessible by bus: the 430 bus leaves George Street (near the casino) hourly and the 445 bus leaves Ann Street hourly. Mirimar Boat Cruise leaves 10:00 a.m. daily from outside the Cultural Centre. Drivers come to Jesmond Road Fig Tree Pocket, UBD Refidex Map 178, H19. Just follow the signs off the Western Freeway.
