Like most things in Brisbane, the adventure starts on or around the river. On the water you can kayak, stand-up paddle board or join a boat cruise to explore the city. Back on land at Kangaroo Point you can rock climb and abseil the cliffs or run, rollerblade and bike your way along the river. But the best adventure of all is actually over the river, on a climb of the Story Bridge, which is one of only three bridge climbs in the world!
The adventure doesn’t end at the city limits, in fact, it intensifies! The Brisbane River opens out onto the adventure playground that is Moreton Bay and Islands. There are water sports aplenty out here with snorkelling, diving, parasailing and more available on the islands. You can also take a fast, exhilarating ride down a sand dune if you feel that way inclined.
There’s bushwalking, skydiving, mountain-bike trails and more. Whatever your adventurous heart is into, there’ll be an activity somewhere in the Brisbane region for you.
