Brisbane City

A glimpse of a CityCat making its rounds of the river and you know that you are in Brisbane. The river is the centre-piece of Brisbane’s celebrated outdoor lifestyle and deserves to be explored. Join one of the river cruises or kayak your way around the bends of the river.

Watch the river action from one of the restaurants and bars along Eagle Street Pier which overlooks the Story Bridge, this precinct is perfect during the day for lunch and afternoon drinks and lights up at night for dinner. A short walk away is the Queen Street Mall - the central hub for shopping and entertainment in the city.

Make time to visit one of the riverside parks like the City Botanic Gardens, New Farm Park or South Bank Parklands. Pedestrian bridges connect the city to South Bank. This inner-city haven is home to the Cultural Centre, Streets Beach Lagoon, entertaining events and a variety of dining options at River Quay, Little Stanley and Grey Streets.

Get to know the personality of Brisbane's urban villages, which each have a distinct vibe. Fortitude Valley is the entertainment hub; New Farm has its café culture and Paddington is known for its boutique shopping in converted Queenslander style homes.

To view Brisbane in all its glory, take a drive up to Mt Cootha Lookout to see the expanse of the city and out to Moreton Bay. Can't wait until you visit to take a look at Brisbane? Check out our 360 photo tour of Brisbane.
