Miscellaneous:
Challenge your mates for the chance to take home a cash prize of AUD1000 (winner takes all) and of course the crowning glory as fastest man or women on Straddie in the 'Straddie Gift'. The 'Straddie Gift' is a 100 metre beach sprint open to all Straddie Salute competitors and the general public of all ages. Entry fee of AUD10.00 applies for non-competitors with all proceeds going to Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club.

There is also the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel Fun Run and Walk, which is a less challenging but equally rewarding seven kilometre scenic tour of Point Lookout. Open to all fitness levels the seven kilometre course starts with a short road section before joining the Straddie Salute coastal run course on Main Beach. Entries will be on the day only.

Great rates on travel and accommodation are available for Straddie Salute competitors through Stradbroke Island Holidays. Beach camping is also very popular on North Stradbroke Island and some great sites are available within walking distance of the event base.

North Stradbroke Island or "Straddie" as it's known, is only a short ferry ride from Cleveland, just 40 minutes south-east of the Brisbane Central Business District. Competitors have the option of driving to the ferry terminal to board a Stradbroke Ferries walk on water taxi, or cross on a vehicle ferry. Alternatively, public transport will get you to Cleveland and around on the island if you are on foot.
