Tourism Queensland was recognised as a digital marketing leader at the 15th annual AIMIA Awards held in Sydney.
The Eye on Q site was winner in the Best Tourism or Travel category.
The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) is Australia’s peak industry body for digital and interactive content.
Tourism Queensland won two awards at the 15th annual Communicator Awards for its 'Open for Business' campaign last year:
The Communicator Awards is the leading international creative awards program honouring creative excellence for communication professionals.
During the period January - June 2009, Queensland Holidays was
ranked 4th in the top ten of all Australian websites in the Government
- Queensland category. The site was also a Hitwise Top 10 Award winner
for the entire year of 2007 - that's for the quarters ending January -
March, April - June, July - September and October -
December 2007.
The Hitwise Top 10 Awards recognise websites from over 160 industry categories that are leaders in their field.
Queensland Holidays has won the IMA Outstanding Achievement Award. The Outstanding Achievement award is the second highest honour bestowed by IMA and a challenging award to win.
The Interactive Media Awards recognise the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honour individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement.
QueenslandHolidays.com.au and Eye on Q have been recognised in the 2008 Web Marketing Association Awards. Eye on Q, which features user-submitted photography as well as Tourism Queensland imagery and video footage was awarded Outstanding Website recognising the work as above and beyond the standard of excellence. The QueenslandHolidays.com.au site was recognised as an Outstanding Website by scoring strongly in the categories of design, innovation, content and copywriting and technology.
In 2007, the Where Else But Queensland and Queensland Holidays sites were selected for several WebAwards from more than 2400 nominations. We were recognised alongside web-presences such as Disney, Vegas, Hong Kong Tourism and Canada.
The WebAwards is the premier global website award competition that identifies the best websites across 96 industries, while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.
The Where Else But Queensland campaign won the award for the Multimedia and Interactive category at this year's AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence. The campaign impressed judges with its successful integration of online and offline media to generate traffic, and for engaging visitors on many levels.
The prestigious AMI Awards are presented to organisations and marketers who have achieved extraordinary success from innovative and effective marketing practices. They are the toughest marketing awards to enter and the toughest to win.
Tourism Queensland was runner-up in July's Creative Showcase Awards. During the three months from February - April 2007, the Where Else But Queensland site registered more than 256,200 visits, reflecting the depth and innovation of a highly-successful campaign.
The Internet Advertising Bureau Australia's Creative Showcase Awards celebrate cutting-edge creativity and innovation within the online advertising sector.
Queensland Holidays won a Silver Award in this year's W3 Awards in the Tourism category.
The W3 Awards honour superior creativity on the web and recognises the individuals behind award winning web sites, web advertising and web video.
The Experience Queensland campaign garnered an award from the Web Marketing Association for Best Travel Rich Media Online Campaign.
The Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards honour excellence in online advertising, recognising the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcasing award winning advertising and promotion.
