Description

Wanderer's Holiday Village is a nature-lover's tropical beachside caravan park. Birds abound in the numerous palm trees in the village, including black cockatoos and torresian pigeons in summer and stone curlews nesting in the village in winter. It is situated on the North Queensland coast, two hours drive north of Townsville, and three hours drive south of Cairns, opposite the southern tip of Hinchinbrook Island.

The Hinchinbrook Channel offers safe boating, fishing, dugong and sea turtle observation, with access from the Lucinda boat ramp (one kilometre), whilst those without a boat have the beach (200 metres), estuaries and jetty from which to cast a line, or enjoy long walks.

Winter in North Queensland offers warm sunny days, with endless opportunities in the great outdoors, including natural attractions such as Wallaman Falls, Broadwater State Forest Park, Mount Fox Crater, creeks and waterholes and the Thorsborne Trail, one of the nominated Great Walks of the World, on Hinchinbrook Island.

There are 162 shady sites, a huge well-maintained amenities block, and 14 airconditioned, self-contained cabins which surround two shady swimming pools for refreshing all year swimming.

Activities that are accessible from the village are eco-tours, reef fishing, snorkelling, island visits and walking trails.

Cancellation Information:
All refunds attract an AUD22 administration fee. Refunds of deposits less this fee are possible with 72 or more hour's notice of cancellation, and, in the event your accommodation type is fully booked and is able to be rebooked. Reserved accommodation shall be paid for on arrival.

Disabled Facilities:
Assistance would be required for guests with a disability. Limited facilities are available including toilet and shower facilities in the amenities block, which is on the ground floor. One cabin is suitable for independent use by a person with a disability.

Other facilities include a fish cleaning shed with freezer, which is available for use by guests.

How To Get There:
Wanderers Holiday Village is located 28 kilometres north of Ingham. Turn right nine kilometres north of Ingham, travel 19 kilometres, and turn right at Lucinda onto Bruce Parade.

Tariff Information:
A discount of 10 per cent applies to cabins for stays of seven nights or more, outside of school holidays. There are site discounts for stays of a week, month or more all seasons.
