... moreFor the more adventurous, there's plenty of opportunity to explore. Wongari sits nestled in a spectacular gorge setting, with gentle walks on their property along Waterfall Creek and Christmas Creek and also into Lamington National Park's wilderness section. The renowned Stinson Grave and Wreck walks are easily accessed, although a guide is recommended if you're not an experienced walker.
Serenity Cabin sits in its own private 10 acre section of their property, with 200 metres of private frontage to Christmas Creek, so you're guaranteed not to be disturbed. The holiday cottage is fully self-contained with a wood oven, rainforest deck, king-sized bed and a glass-enclosed shower overlooking rainforest garden.

Although the self-contained cabin is designed for a couple or two friends it has a lovely open area where a tent for children could be erected. Add $30 to take up this option.

If for some reason you need to cancel your stay and the operator can't re-book another suitable occasion then they reserve the right to keep your payment, either in part or in whole, depending upon the circumstances of the cancellation and the amount of notice provided.
How To Get There
An easy reckoner to get there is to zero your car trip meter the moment you leave Mount Lindsay Highway at Laravale and enter the start of Christmas Creek Road. At exactly 31.96 kilometres down Christmas Creek Road you will find the Wongari homestead gate. Please enter.
Wongari Eco Retreat is nestled in the foothills of the Border Ranges and Lamington National Park and near the end of Christmas Creek Road. The last four kilometres of their no-through road is winding dirt. Wongari is midway and nestled between two mountains. Across their part of Christmas Creek, Buchanans Fort rises to nearly nine hundred metres and behind them are the foothills of the McPherson Ranges.
Tariff Text
To secure your booking they require a AUD100 deposit. The balance to be paid prior to arrival. Unfortunately, they cannot offer EFTPOS facilities at this time. Payment is required by direct deposit or cheque.
Please Note:
Long weekends are a 3 night booking.
Easter Weekend is a 4 night booking.
There is a 2 night minimum stay for Serenity.
Serenity Cabin
At Wongari they found an old cabin on a serene stretch of Christmas Creek, turned it into a nature retreat, and called it 'Serenity'. They hope you will agree with them.
