Possum Park lies nestled in 360 acres of tranquil bushland, 20 kilometres from Miles in south west Queensland. The unique accommodation park offers an experience you will not find anywhere else.
During World War Two, the RAAF Kowguran explosives store was located here and comprised 20 concrete underground bunkers among other buildings. In 1957, RAAF Kowguran was disbanded and in 1985 David and Julie Hinds converted the underground bunkers into self-contained accommodation units.

Possum Park accommodation is made up of nine Units including one Family Room, 20 Powered Caravan Sites, 10 Unpowered Caravan Sites, and Camping Grounds for up to 50 people.
General Comments
Possum Park is a self-contained and self-catering accommodation park which values peace and tranquility. In order to retain this characteristic guests are asked to honour a curfew of 9:30 p.m. during Winter and 10:00 p.m. during Summer.
The Park is supplied by bore water and rain water tanks - guests are asked to engage water wise practices whilst staying at the Park.
There is an on-site dump point for caravans and motor-homes.
How To Get There
Possum Park is located 20 kilometres north of Miles along the Leichhardt Highway, in south west Queensland. The town of Miles is located approximately 350 kilometres west of Brisbane along the Warrego Highway.
Open Times
Reception is open from 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m., seven days a week.
Please note there is a curfew of 9.30 p.m. in Winter, and 10.00 p.m. in Summer.
Tariff Text
Extra persons can be accommodated in the Underground Bunkers, Troop Train Carriages, or "The Igloo" Bunkerhouse at a rate of AUD15.00 per person per night.
Extra persons can be accommodated in the Drive-Through Caravan Sites or Safari Tent Area at a rate of AUD10.00 per person per night.
Ex-Airforce underground bunkers from 1942 and 1943 which have been fully refurbished into self-contained accommodation.
