General Comments
What do you call cottages in the country that seem more like modern city apartments? Are they cottages, cabins, villas? None of these really do them justice so we'll call them 'pods.' They have everything you need to be self-sufficient (in a very luxurious manner), and are futuristic structures (that could have just beamed down from outer space) which still manage to blend in with the rural surrounds. Their off-black metalwork match the dark hues of the basalt Glass House Mountains , whilst their spotted gum chamfer boards blends-in with the surrounding bush. These really are stunning cottages with that Wow factor. They are conveniently located and make a great first or last stop for people flying in/out of Brisbane airport.
Their cottages are unique in many ways, but especially in their design:
There are two feature walls of floor-to-ceiling three metre high glass with spectacular Mountain views. This opens up the cottages to such an extent that you feel like you're part of the landscape. The design of the cottages quietly, unobtrusively and comfortably bring guests closer to the power of nature. Clutter is stripped away to emphasise elemental forces of fire, water, sky and earth. And then there's the freestanding double spa bath, mounted on a pedestal so it becomes the centrepiece of the bathroom (Cleopatra would certainly have approved of this), and the way it fills from a spout in dramatic fashion, like a waterfall. Bath time will never be the same again! For those cooler winter nights there's a beautiful eco-smart™ fire. This burns with a beautiful flickering blue flame and uses ethanol, which is made from a renewable resource (sugar cane) so is a very 'green' (no carbon emissions, no green house gasses). In these 'pods' it's been installed in the wall between the bathroom and the lounge, so you can experience it from the double spa or from the couch.
How To Get There
From south: Turn off the M1 (Bruce Highway) when you see a sign for the scenic route to Glasshouse Mountains and Beerwah (Scenic Route 24, Steve Irwin Way).
After four kilometres turn left into Beerburrum, go through it, and take the first road on the right (Beerburrum-Woodford Road). After about four kilometres there's a fork in the road, take the right hand fork (Old Gympie Road). Keep on this road for about two kilometres, and then take the first road on the left, Glasshouse-Woodford Road. Glass on Glasshouse is about two kilometres up this road, just after the Lookout Cafe. Proceed to the gate and ring the operator from there.
Open Times
Reception is open 10am-9pm daily.
Pet Extract
Because of the wildlife, including kangaroos, they cannot take pets.
