General Comments
Your hosts owners and managers Doug Scouller and Lyn Heath ensure you will enjoy the laid back, relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you can unwind and explore Karumba's endless water wonderland. Karumba features spectacular sunsets and river views and amazing fishing spots; you can even fish from the beach in front of the motel.
The outdoor garden area is a great place to sit and enjoy the sunset and a few cold drinks with friends, or to simply relax and enjoy the view. The surrounding wetlands are home to many bird species including Brolgas, Sarus Cranes, Crimson Chats and migratory birds.
Your hosts are happy to assist guests with information on local tours, fishing charter and crab fishing bookings, crocodile spotting tours, scenic flights and river sunset cruises.
How To Get There
When travelling by road from Cairns, there are bitumen roads all the way across the Atherton Tablelands to Mount Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon and Normanton. Karumba is situated 72 kilometres north west from Normanton in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Trans North Bus and Coach services from Cairns offer three return services per week.
Skytrans airlines offer four return flights each week from Cairns to Normanton.
