Just 45 minutes by boat, the affordable Fitzroy Island Resort offers guests the opportunity to intimately discover the magic and diversity of the Great Barrier Reef from land and sea, making it the perfect accessible base for snorkelling, diving and exploring the reef and rainforest. The walking tracks through the rainforest, up to the summit and to the lighthouse offer a 360 degree view over the Great Barrier Reef.

Fitzroy Island Resort offers a range of exquisite accommodation including Ocean Suites, Resort Studios, Beach cabins and self-contained apartments. The resort facilities include a beach front restaurant, large pool with swim up bar, dive shop, indoor cinema, Foxy's bar and a general store.

There are plenty of activities for the whole family at Fitzroy Island including our Aquajets, Mini Submarines, Glass Bottom Sea Kayaks, Eye Spy Cruises, Bushwalking and Glass Bottom Boat Tours.

Camping is also available.

Ferry transfers to and from Fitzroy Island depart daily and tickets can be pre-booked from Fitzroy Island Resort.

Fitzroy Island Resort is affiliated to Redco Investments. Redco is a Darwin based property development and management company, established in 1970 by the Managing Director, Doug Gamble.
Redco specialises in one-off innovative projects that require lateral thinking and creative solutions. Their projects in the last four decades range from major tourism projects to construction of remote area mining camps, to high rise Central Business District buildings and apartments.
Over the last 20 years Redco and its associated companies have evolved into the largest tourism accommodation management company in Darwin, at one stage owning properties controlling over 1750 tourism beds.
Camping is available on Fitzroy Island and bookings can be made through the resort. The campground is surrounded by lush rainforest and natural springs. Campground includes showers, toilets, barbecue facilities as well as picnic tables.
The consumption of alcohol within the campground is prohibited.

How To Get There:
Fitzroy Island Resort is a 29 kilometres or a 45 minute ferry ride with Sunlover Reef Cruises from Cairns. Surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Daily ferry services depart to Fitzroy Island at: 7:30am, 8:30am, 10am and 2pm. Daily ferry services return to Cairns at: 10:30am, 4:30pm and 5pm. Transfer Tickets can be purchased from Fitzroy Island Resort.
Return fares for Resort Guests travelling with Sunlover Reef Cruises are AUD65.00 per adult, AUD30.00 per child ages four to 14 years. Infants aged zero to three years travel free of charge. Return fares for Resort Guests travelling with Sunkist are AUD50.00 per adult, AUD25.00 per child ages four to 14 years. Infants aged zero to three years travel free of charge.
Visiting the island on own yacht or boat is welcomed.

Pet Information:
Fitzroy Island is a National Park and pets are not allowed.
