Description

Orchid House is a self contained rental house at Orchid Beach on Fraser Island, in the heart of the National Park and World Heritage Listed Area. It beautifully fitted out, designed to take advantage of the island's mild sub-tropical climate and to maximise your privacy and comfort.

Orchid Beach is only accessible by four wheel drive and is situated on Marloo Bay, in the north east of the island and is the peaceful alternative to the busier southern resort settlements of Kingfisher Bay, Eurong, and Happy Valley. They don't have a resort hotel, heavy beach traffic, tour buses, or day-trippers.

The house is within a 20 minute drive of Indian Head, Champagne Pools, Waddy Point, Ngkala Rocks, and Ocean Lake. A 35 kilometre drive north will take you to the beautiful wilderness area of Sandy Cape and around the tip of the island to the historic lighthouse and wartime bunkers. Known for its legendary fishing, exploring, whale watching, walking and sightseeing, you can be as active as you want, or just put your feet up with your favourite drink and enjoy the sunsets from the beach or verandah.

How To Get There:
Please note, Orchid House can be accessed by four wheel drive only. Travel the beach as close to low tide as possible.
From Brisbane drive north along the Bruce Highway to Gympie (170 kilometres). Follow signs to Rainbow Beach. From Rainbow Beach, continue to Inskip Point to the barge landing point. Barge to Fraser Island. On the southern tip of Fraser Island you will have two choices: turn right and take the beach around Hook Point, or; immediate leave the beach and take the inland road. From Hook Point to Orchid Beach is 90 kilometres.
