The Shelly Beach Motel has 13 individually decorated rooms to suit singles through to families. The best beach in Hervey Bay is directly across the road. Lie in bed at night and listen to the gentle roll of the waves.
All rooms are semi self contained with new curtains, carpets,comfortable lounge chairs, reverse cycle air conditioning, flat screen televisions, fans, tea and coffee making,large fridge,microwave and free wireless internet access. Upstairs rooms have private balconies and the downstairs rooms have a large courtyard. All have patio settings. Undercover parking is available and also a guest laundry. As they have a large backyard, they are pet friendly,conditions and surcharges apply.( Please check with the Motel ). There is ample room for your boat or trailer.
... moreThe grounds are pleasantly landscaped with a gazebo and barbecue outdoor area, complete with camp kitchen. It's a pleasant walk along the Esplanade to restaurants and shops. The mighty humpback whales visit the region from July to November. These amazing creatures have to be seen to be believed. Also Fraser Island is on the doorstep and all the local tour operators will pick you up outside the Motel for a trip to the this wonderful island.

General Comments
Shelly Beach Motel is a small motel owned by two sisters who grew up in Hervey Bay. They offer a friendly and relaxed motel and are prepared to go out of their way to help their guests enjoy the stay.
How To Get There
When travelling by car Hervey Bay is an easy three and a half hour drive north of Brisbane on the Bruce Highway. Follow the signs at Maryborough. You will arrive on Boat Harbour Drive. Follow that for approximately seven kilometres until you reach the Esplanade. Turn left and the Shelly Motel is approximately one kilometre on the corner of Hockley Lane. GPS users log in 510 Charlton Esplanade.
When travelling by train, travel to Maryborough West with a Trainlink bus bringing you to Hervey Bay and onto the motel.
When travelling by bus, take Greyhound to Hervey Bay.
When travelling by plane, Virgin fly direct from Sydney, Qantas fly direct from Brisbane, and Brisbane International Airport is three and a half hours away.

New curtains and carpets have recently been added. The rooms also have an outdoor patio setting facing the calm waters of Hervey Bay. A short stroll across the Esplanade finds you at Shelly Beach, one of the best in Hervey Bay.
