General Comments
Kewarra Beach Resort and Spa completed a major multi-million dollar renovation in 2010. Renovations included a fully refurbished and renovated reception, foyer and porte cochere, a new restaurant with elevated forest deck and boardwalk overlooking the beach, new lounge and cocktail bar adjacent to the restaurant overlooking the lagoon pool, refurbishment of all rooms and public areas, a new health and wellness spa facility incorporating multiple treatment rooms, enhancements to our gardens with feature garden lighting and informative nature walks, and the establishment of a wildlife rehabilitation sanctuary in conjunction with Queensland wildlife rescue. This exciting project will further strengthen Kewarra Beach Resort's outstanding reputation as an idyllic boutique property with a strong focus on nature, and environmental sensitivity while providing world class health and wellness facilities.
All tours to the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding regions pick up and drop off at Kewarra Beach Resort and Spa. There is also a highly knowledgeable concierge/Tour Desk service to assist with arranging or reconfirming tours.
How To Get There
Kewarra Beach Resort and Spa can organise return transfers from Cairns Domestic and International Airport by prior arrangements and charges apply. This service must be pre-booked no later than 24 hours prior to arrival. All tours in the Cairns Port Douglas region pick up and return to Kewarra Beach Resort.
Driving from Cairns airport to Kewarra is very easy. When exiting the airport access road you come to the main Cook Highway, turn right and remain on this road for approximately 15 kilometres, you go through eight roundabouts just follow the exit signs for Port Douglas/Mossman/Palm Cove, just remain on the main Cook Highway heading north.
Prior to the ninth roundabout, move into the right lane and exit for Kewarra Beach. Follow the road over a small roundabout and continue to the bottom of Poolwood Road, this then makes a 90 degree turn to the left at a mini roundabout follow the road to the left and after less than a minute you arrive at the entrance to Kewarra Beach Resort, where they look forward to welcoming you.
