The Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge provides eco-friendly accommodation in the heart of the Glasshouse Mountains. The remarkable Glasshouse Mountains are a series of steep sided volcanic plugs over 25 million years old. You can climb, scale, walk around or simply gaze at them from the front entrance of the Ecolodge. Explore off the beaten track, go for a bush walk, taste the wide variety of tropical fruits or visit Australia Zoo, just 10 minutes drive away. Listen to the sounds of the Australian bush from your own room;learn about the bush food garden and the 60 different tropical fruit and nut trees in the orchard.

There is a large variety of accommodation suitable for singles, couples and groups. All rooms have ensuites. The Orchard Rooms, with great views of Mount Tibrogargan from their verandahs, overlook the tropical orchard and the Forest Family Rooms, which sleep up to four people face the forest. Self-serve breakfasts are available on request or prepare your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen/dining railway carriage. Relax in the second railway carriage, chat, play board games or make use of the swap library. Sit indoors or outside and enjoy the peacefulness of a truly great Australian bush setting.

Further Details:
This eco friendly property is very quiet and peaceful with abundant wildlife - over 60 different types of birds have been seen here, butterflies, dragonflies and kangaroos. Self guided walks and nature watch programs. There are a total of 11 rooms sleeping up to 26 people, six are air conditioned and one has a wood burning fire. The Ecolodge is now fully solar powered (depending on the weather), has its own water supply and onsite sewerage treatment system and they are doing everything they can to decrease their own and their guests' carbon footprint with recycling, planting of trees etc.
Great venue for boutique corporate events, team building, retreats, workshops, and family gatherings. Beautiful workshop space in restored 110-year-old church.
Use the Ecolodge as your base to explore the Sunshine Coast and its hinterland. Australia Zoo is only a 10-minute drive away. There is so much to do you will need a number of days to enjoy it all. The Ecolodge is just 400 metres from the entrance to Mt Tibrogargan National Park and a short drive to other National Parks, a number of wonderful clean sandy beaches and the Blackall Range with the Great Walk, Wineries, Craft Shops, Galleries and award winning Restaurants and Cafes.

How To Get There:
From Brisbane, approximately 75 minutes drive: Travel north along the Bruce Highway and take the Steve Irwin Way exit, after nine kilometres turn left into Barrs Road/Mt Tibrogargan. The Ecolodge is two kilometres along on the right. If you are travelling south along the Bruce Highway, take the Landsborough/Steve Irwin Way exit, travelling past Australia Zoo and Beerwah, look for Matilda Service Station on the left and turn right 400 metres after into Barrs Road/Mt Tibrogaran.
By train from the Brisbane Airport, take the Airtrain to Eagle Junction or Bowen Hills and change to the Gympie line, stop at Glasshouse Mountains Train Station. A free pickup service from the Station is available if you give 24 hours notice.

Orchard Room

These comfortable rooms with high ceilings and polished floors have ensuite (shower and toilet) and a queen size bed. Great views of Mt Tibrogargan can be seen from the table and seating on the deck outside each room. There is reverse cycle air conditioning in each of these rooms.

Complimentary tea and coffee is available throughout your stay in the self catering kitchen located in a restored railway carriage and breakfast is available on request.

Mt Tibrogargan Family Suite

This two bedroom suite has a spacious main bedroom with queen size bed, sofa and air-conditioning. There is a large walk through bathroom with bath, shower, vanity and toilet adjoining the other room, which has a single bed and another single in the loft room above. A fold out bed is available for another child. There is a large verandah with table and chairs and a wonderful view of Mt Tibrogargan. A bar heater is available as required in winter and pedestal fans in summer.

The Bunk Room is quite small but comfortable with a double bed and single bunk bed above. The room has a separate large bathroom with shower, toilet and basin a few metres from the door. It has a desk, pedestal fan in summer and bar heater in winter as needed. It has a covered outdoor patio area with an outlook to the garden and forested area. This is a useful room for overflow from the Family Room for groups and larger family gatherings.

The Bungalow

This beautifully decorated two room bungalow has a queen size bed and is fully self contained with a kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, gas cooktop and oven), and a comfortable dining/lounge area. Both rooms have split system air conditioning. The bungalow is built using two octagonal buildings and very high ceilings. It is set in a mature palm grove giving it a lovely tropical ambience. The quality fixtures and fittings, hand carved antique Balinese doors, unusual wooden furniture and wooden shutters add to its appeal. The Bungalow is lovely for that special occasion offering privacy in a peaceful green setting.

The Church-Loft

For those who would like something really special. This beautiful old church was relocated from western Queensland and was the first building on the Ecolodge land. There is a loft bedroom with a queen size bed and spectacular views of Mt Tibrogargan. The bathroom is located downstairs.

Relax in this beautifully restored 120 year old church with its original timber floors and walls, cathedral ceilings, arched windows and shutters - all part of a bygone era. There is a mini kitchen (with fridge, jug, toaster, and sink) and a four seat dining suite. There is a huge comfortable lounge area with wood burning fire for cosy winter evenings. This is also a special venue for family gatherings, workshops, meetings and retreats.
