Dad's Dairy Farm is located on the flanks of the highest hill on the southern side of Toowoomba (only six kilometres from Southern Queensland University) and offers fully self contained accommodation for up to four people.

Located just two kilometres from Drayton, the oldest and original settlement of Toowoomba and the historic Bull's Head Inn, the cottage is nestled on 80 acres and commands magnificent panoramic views of the Darling Downs. The cottage, while in a rural setting, is close to all the conveniences of the city, being only six kilometres from the University and similar proximity to hospitals, entertainment and recreational facilities.

Creating Dad's Dairy Farm Cottage was a challenging task. The building was transformed from a 50 year old dairy into a retreat which celebrates the dairying background and the pioneering spirit of the area (Steel Rudd of Dad and Dave fame).

Hosts Jim and Linda, along with ""Tails"" the Jack Russell, two ponies, a few cows, chooks and an assortment of wild life (wallabies, hares, possums, lizards and assortment of native birds) like it and hope you will too.

Miscellaneous:

Dad's Dairy is a unique property, unrivalled by any other accommodation provider on the Darling Downs. It dares to be different. The cottage consists of two main rooms - the lounge/dining room previously contained the milking machine and bulk milk vat. The large main bedroom with adjoining shower and toilet facilities originally housed the milking stalls where the cows were milked. Made initially of concrete and corrugated iron, it is of interest to observe the modern resurgence of iron in modern building design and construction.

Fences are also a feature on the property with many types in use ranging from post and rail, to old lichen encrusted timber gates to electric fences. Take a walk on the hill, relax with nature and enjoy the view.

Travelling south from Toowoomba, Dad's Dairy Farm Cottage is located at 443 Drayton Connection Road, three kilometres past the Drayton State School. The property turnoff is on the crest of a hill approximately 500 metres over the railway crossing (fourth house on the left after rail crossing). Watch out for the Dad's Dairy sign and the Telstra Tower on the hill near where the cottage is located. The hosts live in the weatherboard homestead situated on the side of this hill. Dad's Dairy is located a further 100 metres up the gravel access road. "Tails" the Jack Russell, may welcome you.

Extra adults are AUD15.00 per night and extra children are AUD 8.00 per night.
