Dunk Island was known to the first inhabitants as 'Coonanglebah' - the isle of peace and plenty. Today, the palm-fringed beaches and lush rainforests of this tropical island are ideal for those who want to enjoy time out or the time of their lives. The resort is located in a National Park, halfway between Townsville and Cairns, off the coast of Mission Beach.

There are many activities to choose from on Dunk, horse-riding, rainforest walks, catamarans, tandem sky diving, golf, or visiting the island farm. For a change of pace, get away to a sun-soaked beach with a gourmet picnic hamper, or indulge yourself at the Spa of Peace and Plenty, to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.

For a family holiday, there are plenty of things to do together, but when mum and dad want some time out, the Kids Club gives three to 12 year olds plenty to do. All rooms are well-appointed with four grades of accommodation, each with beach or garden views. On this family-friendly island children also stay and eat free.

Cancellation Information:
One month to seven days - full refund of all monies paid where applicable. Within seven days including bookings made within this period - a cancellation fee equivalent to one nights accommodation per person will be charged.

What to bring: Casual resort style beach wear for daytime, smart casual for after 6.00 p.m. Also include camera, sunscreen, insect repellent and suitable footwear for beach access and island walks.
Dinner is available 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. in the Beachcomber Restaurant, varies from table d'hote to themed buffets such as seafood or Mediterranean style. Other dining options include the Terrace Restaurant which features Italian style cuisine and the Jetty Cafe which open daily for lunch from 9.00 a.m.

All rooms are well appointed with four grades of accommodation, each with beach or garden views.

How To Get There:
Flights are available to Cairns with Qantas and Jetstar from all major Australian capital cities.
Daily flights from Cairns to Dunk Island are available and operated by Hinterland Aviation and take approximately 35 minutes.
Daily launch transfers from Clump Point Jetty to Dunk Island Jetty are available via Quickcat Cruises, who operate four departures per day from Mission Beach and Dunk Island.
Water Taxi transfers departs daily from Mission Beach (Wongaling) to Dunk Island Beach spit.
Calypso Adventures operate "Sealegs" which can get you to Dunk Island in 10 minutes from Mission Beach. Sealegs can be chartered by contacting Calypso Adventures.

Garden Room

Set amongst tropical gardens, Garden Rooms are a short stroll away from the central complex, resort facilities and beach. Rooms are comfortable and feature contemporary cane and timber furniture and a small outdoor area. Rooms contain a separate ensuite with shower. All rooms feature one queen and one single bed, or family configurations are available with one queen and two single beds.

Situated beachside with easy access to the beach through a tropical garden, guests can enjoy filtered views over Brammo Bay from most rooms. Upstairs rooms have balconies and downstairs rooms have a patio and lead onto the gardens and the beach. Rooms have a separated living and sleeping area and ensuite facilities with combined bath and shower. All rooms feature one king and one single day bed, or family configurations are available with two queen and one single day bed. Additional in room amenities include bathrobes and fully stocked mini bar. Interconnecting rooms are available.

Beachfront Suite

Situated beachside these rooms offer virtually uninterrupted views over Brammo Bay with direct access to the beach. Set in small groups of four units (two units upstairs, two downstairs), Beachfront Suites are bright and spacious with a king bed and single day bed. The interior is split level with the upper level featuring the sleeping area and a comfortable living area on the lower level. Rooms have a relaxed coastal feel with double glass doors leading onto a large L-shaped balcony. Additional in room amenities include CD Player, bathrobes and fully stocked mini bar.
