Description

Coolangatta YHA Backpackers is a 40 minute drive north of Byron Bay, just over the Queensland border. They are only a five minute walk from the Gold Coast Airport and 150 metres from the beach.

It is an ideal springboard for your Gold Coast activities, enjoy a stroll along the uncrowded beach, or take a tour to the spectacular hinterlands featuring tropical rainforests, waterfalls, rock pools and many nature walks. Visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and hand feed a kangaroo, have your photograph taken with a koala or take an exciting ""wild night tour"". The Coolangatta ""Superbank"" is one of the best waves in the world. It is the home of the WCT Quiksilver / Roxy Pro's and has some of the best waves in Australia. Whale watching is available from June to October.

The famous Gold Coast theme parks are only a 30 to 40 minute drive away. For the more adventurous try a tandem skydive, surf lesson, scuba dive or snorkel with the turtles all year round at the Cook Island sanctuary. Coolangatta has something for everyone.

How To Get There:
From the Gold Coast Airport Terminal, they are just a five minute walk. Walk out of the airport, turn left and follow the footpath to their front door! Ring the Hostel for a free pick up from the Greyhound bus stop on one of their four daily shuttle runs. For those driving they are located just north of the Queensland border adjacent to the highway.
