Description

Karumba Point Tourist Park is a popular destination for travellers wanting to experience all that the Gulf of Carpentaria has to offer, with the beach, shopping and local hotel being only a short distance away. The Park offers plenty of shady powered and unpowered sites, air-conditioned on-site caravans and a sparkling swimming pool. There are two amenities blocks, laundry facilities, dump points and a fish cleaning area for the lucky fishermen.

Organised activities are held each week, culminating each Saturday with a fish barbecue, and the friendly staff are there to help the guests with everything from parking the van to helping with information or make any tour bookings required. Nature abounds in the area and the bird watching is as popular as the fishing and crabbing.

The friendly atmosphere of the Park is well renowned, and many who visit, seem to return because they have such a great experience. There is also a craft supplies shop in the Park for those who need to top up on their wool and cottons while on their travels.

How To Get There:
For people coming from Cloncurry to the south on the Matilda highway, or from the east or west on the Savannah Way, travel 70 kilometres north of Normanton on the Karumba Development Road. Turn right and continue approximately two kilometres. The Karumba Point Tourist Park signs are obvious to see. If you miss the turn you will reach Karumba township and the Visitors Information Centre where you can be given directions, or turn around and head back past the Golf course and cattle yards and turn right.
