Experience the magnificent Bonus Downs homestead, find yourself on a tranquil bushwalk or take in the day's activities. Whatever your interest, there is something for everyone at Bonus Downs. Bonus Downs offers good old fashioned hospitality in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Bonus Downs is 46 kilometres south west of Mitchell on the Bollon Road, has bitumen to the door and is only half an hour from Mitchell. It has accommodation in the rustic Jackeroos Quarters. Camping is also available in the shearing shed or bring your own tent.

Jackeroos Cottage

As a true Jackeroos Cottage the atmosphere is rustic with verandas overlooking the homestead, the gully and the woolshed. There are no televisions, phones, computer games, hi-fi's or DVD's. The dining room shows off the history of Bonus Downs and is a very friendly room to relax and enjoy the sounds of silence or a conversation with others. Nestled beside the Cottage is a Smoko House where many meals are served under the stars of the beautiful western sky.

The tour operates Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. Bookings are essential. Tour costs AUD25.00 per person, children AUD5.00 per person and group concessions apply.

Join Madonna and Lyle for a tour of the Bonus Downs Homestead and the Ooline Plantation followed by smoko. Tour this magnificent property and learn all about the hardships and way of life the early pioneers had to endure during settlement. Transfer to the Ooline plantation that features one of the rarest rainforest species of bush and trees dating back over 1.6 million years. Observe many forms of native Australian wildlife. Enjoy a traditional 'smoko' country morning tea feast. The tour operates Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bookings are essential. Tour costs AUD50.00 per person, children AUD15.00 per person and group concessions apply.

All bookings must be accompanied by a 50 per cent deposit. Final payments must be in cash only. Electronic funds transfer at the point of sale and credit card transactions are not available. Cancellations within 48 hours prior to the date of arrival will incur no refund of deposit.

Meals are fully catered for upon request.

650 kilometres west of Brisbane. Approximately seven hours drive from Brisbane and one hour and 45 minutes from Roma, 46 kilometres south-west of Mitchell on the Bollon Road with all bitumen to the entrance and is only half an hour from Mitchell. Bonus Downs also has an airstrip that is capable of landing a light fixed wing aircraft. The airstrip co-ordinates are: 26 degrees and 42 minutes south, 147 degrees and 41 minutes east. Breakfast can be purchased (with prior arrangement) for AUD 17.50 for adults and AUD 10.00 for children. A three course dinner can also be purchased (with prior arrangement) for AUD 35.00 per adult and AUD 14.50 for children. A tour of the Bonus Downs Homestead followed by smoko is also available (with prior arrangement) for AUD25.00 per adult and AUD 5.00 for children. A tour of the Bonus Downs Homestead, Ooline Plantation and Smoko is also available (with prior arrangement) for AUD 50.00 per adult and AUD 15.00 for children.
