Pets Allowed:
Yes. All types of pets are welcome. All they ask is to keep them tied up and outside pub grounds as they have a pub dog (Roxy, a desexed Kelpie) and lots of free ranging chooks and ducks that they love and that they not eat them, they are pets. They also have a resident goat (Nancy), sheep (Lucille), draught horse (XXXX) and cat (Southern). They love them all and will love your animals as long as they do not harm theirs.

Further Details:
The pub is 160 kilometres west of Goondiwindi, 45 kilometres east of Saint George and approximately 70 kilometres north of the Queensland/New South Wales border. It is situated on the banks of the Moonie River.

Come as a stranger, leave as a friend is their wish. Every day they have happy hour at the pub and they encourage you to stay on and enjoy their chef's fine fare. Their menu is extensive and changed regularly depending on season. All their meals are freshly prepared and cooked with fresh vegetables and local St George beef and lamb. They are proud of their chefs.
The atmosphere is very social as they have no poker machines or legal gambling at all and quiet country music in the background so you will find yourself in conversations with all in attendance at the pub and surrounds. It is a very special feeling most people have not experienced for some time but as it has been since 1864. Soak up the aura of days past and feel the same today casting your eye off the front verandah over the river as all who have visited since 1864 have done so.

How To Get There:
Easy six hour drive from Brisbane and a nine hour drive from Sydney. They are on the edge of the outback given the Outback starts at Cunnamulla (400 kilometres west of them) but close enough to come and enjoy a weekend away or a month. Leaving the Queensland coast head for Toowoomba or Warwick and then make your way to Goondiwindi from Gundi head due west towards St George passing through Toobeah (two beers) then Talwood. After 160 kilometres from Gundi the road comes to a T junction where you turn left and travel one kilometre then turn right into The Gully 500 metres off the highway. They are 70 kilometres north of the Queensland town of Mungindi so if you are travelling from the southern states when you arrive in Moree turn left on the north side of town and head for them through Mungindi (they are two hours north west of Moree).

All their rooms are situated in the original 1864 pub and as such have no ensuite but have shared facilities with the hotel guests. All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. All beds have electric blankets fitted during winter and fans for summer. They do apologise but air conditioners would destroy the 145 year old fabric of the pub. All rooms have 12 foot ceilings and all but one have windows opening on to the pub verandah. The pub is built out of cypress pine and as such there is no smoking in rooms or fires near the pub. Breakfast is available.

Hire all the pubs rooms for a night of celebrations which sleeps a total of17, and sleep as many as you wish in swags around the pub. This is very popular with coach tours, birthday parties, weddings, as well as car, motorcycle and mountain bike rallies. They cater for 120 people seated or more than 300 ralliers.

One of their specialities for groups of 80 plus is pig on the spit. Their Roadtrain five kilogram burger feeds eight people, or try their new 13 kilogram Double Double Burger that feeds 20 people. Bacon and egg rolls available now (more than seven kilograms) on request for breakfast which feeds at least 16 people (bacon and egg roll cooked by you for breakfast on their barbecue).
