Description

Djarawong Lodge Bed and Breakfast is a magnificent purpose built Bed and Breakfast situated eight kilometres north of Tully, midway between Cairns and Townsville. Opened in late 2009 and located only 1.6 kilometres off the highway, it has outstanding views across the cane fields to the tips of the islands beyond.

Its relaxed rural location gives guests the best of two outstanding environments. The quiet of a rural setting a few kilometres to the Wet Tropics rainforest walks and a short 10 minutes to Tully and a 20 minute drive to the 14 kilometres of sandy beaches in Mission Beach.

The situation is wonderful with only two rooms whose entry doors open onto wide all weather verandas where you have 360 degree views from the mountain ranges to the tips of the islands. The solar-heated, salt water, freeform swimming pool gives you the impression of being in a lagoon. Surrounded by tropical gardens with lots of areas to sit and relax. Because that is what Djarawong Bed and Breakfast is all about relaxation.

With a barbecue and a lovely indoor / outdoor room with lounge seating and breakfast room this Lodge all rates include a delightful tropical continental breakfast.

How To Get There:
Situated midway between Townsville and Cairns, Djarawong Lodge Bed and Breakfast is very easy to find. From Cairns travel south to Innisfail and continue on the Bruce Highway to El Arish but keep on going up and over the range you will come onto the flat at the other side at a cross intersection.
Turn right at the intersection and you are on The Old Tully Road. Be careful to stop at the railway crossing and look for trains, they do use this line frequently. 1.6 kilometres along this road you will see Djarawong Lodge Bed and Breakfast on the rise as you come around the bend. They are at 717 which has the rural signs on the side of the road and drive up through the cutting and you are at your temporary home, for hopefully a couple of nights. The car park is at the top of the hill on the right, so swing in and come across to the office at this tropical oasis in the Wet Tropics. Look for the red and gold Balinese flags.

From Townsville, travel north through Ingham and Cardwell till you get to Tully, they are only one turn away. Drive north past the Mission Beach turnoff, past the old Feluga pub on your left, and the next turnoff (at the big tree) to your left is the Old Tully Road.
