Description
Alkoomie is an 18,000 hectare working cattle station just 30 minutes from historic Cooktown, Cape York Peninsula, Queensland where you get to experience the real Australia. The homestead is built on Mt Dixon 500 metres above sea level with spectacular views to the Coral Sea.
There are plenty of activities and adventures for all the family including feeding the farm animals, horse riding (extra cost), working cattle dogs, and swimming in rock pools, dinner cooked in a camp oven and eaten around the camp fire and much more or you can just relax and take in the spectacular views.

How To Get There
You can get to Alkoombie Station by flying or driving from Cairns to Cooktown. Self drive (four wheel drive only) Cooktown to Alkoomie Station or pick up in Cooktown by Alkoomie Staff. Fly Cairns to Alkoomie Station Airstrip in small plane or helicopter. 1,000 metre airstrip available.
