Bamboo Retreat offers a unique Sunshine Coast hideaway for pure relaxation. Located on the Blackall Range just one and a half hours from Brisbane, it is a great place from which to explore the glorious Sunshine Coast, from Caloundra to Noosa and Fraser Island. It also offers easy access to the unique landscapes of the Mary Valley and easterly regions.

Laze on the famous Sunshine Coast beaches; bushwalk the many National Parks and forests; climb a Glasshouse Mountain; visit art galleries, restaurants and wineries, local and Eumundi markets; indulge in some unique retail therapy across the Range; take scenic drives and picnic along the way; and fish in Lake Baroon and coastal areas.

Set on a forest ridge overlooking the Obi Obi Valley, Bamboo Retreat borders the 400 hectare Maleny National Park. You will be drawn to the quiet majesty of towering gums and find it hard to believe that you're only 15 minutes from the cosmopolitan village of Maleny, the heart of the hinterland.

The Blackall Range nestles between large areas of protected bushland with many places of interest for the nature lover. Your hosts invite you to enjoy the bush walks and native wildlife at their doorstep. Please treat them with respect and leave only your footprints.
With only one king suite, their guests are assured of quiet and privacy. The owners are slowly rehabilitating the 12 hectare hidden portion of the property to provide a safe home for the abundant wildlife. The recently-gazetted Jilumbar Koala Nature Refuge attests to their passion for preserving and enhancing the natural assets of both the property and the Range. The property is also registered for Land For Wildlife.
Your hosts can arrange massages, facials and much more in your suite, restaurant bookings, fresh flowers and more - just ask!

How To Get There:
From Brisbane, take the Bruce Highway north. Take the Steve Irwin Way/Glasshouse Mountains/Maleny exit, then the Landsborough/Maleny turnoff.
Coming south on the Bruce Highway, follow the signs to Landsborough.
At Landsborough cross the railway line, continue up the hill and through Maleny township. Follow Maleny-Kenilworth Road for approximately nine kilometres and turn right into Curramore Road just after the large red/white sign indicating a 'Very Steep Descent for the next 4.624 kilometres.
After 3.4 kilometres, Kidaman Creek Road branches to the right at the second Y-intersection. Bamboo Retreat is approximately 500 metres on the right hand side down Kidaman Creek Road.

Rustic yet contemporary, the studio suite blends bush timbers with luxury fittings, furniture and fabrics. Designed for comfort it combines lounge, kitchenette, bedroom and ensuite. The king bed is made for sweet dreams and the lounge area has a small library and eclectic music selection. A wood fire keeps Maleny's mountain chills at bay while overhead fans cool sultry summer nights.

The indoor dining area adjoins a fully-equipped kitchenette stocked with fresh fruit, a selection of teas and coffees, home-made marmalade, muesli, yoghurts and other necessities.

Complimentary hand-made soaps and organic toiletries are in your ensuite. Wake to hot fresh bread with an early-morning kookaburra chorus. At day's end, dine by candlelight and sip champagne or your favourite wine in the hot-spa under the stars.
